I never really listened that much to The Fall but whenever I did I liked what I heard but I don't own much of their stuff.Even so the fact that Mark E Smith has died is still something I feel sad about. You can hear his influence on a lot of bands around now as well as in the past and of course he did do things his own way which is always something to be admired.
He was only three years old than me (the same age as my brother)and his death is a reminder of how old I really am now.
Yet another music related blog from a middle aged man who thinks he's got great taste in music and something important to say to the world.

June 2017
A rare post from me these days. I ran Stirling Marathon on 21/05/17 in 5:05:17 a bit slow but an enjoyable run.
We stayed at Cooks Hotel , a small rather expensive hotel but handily placed for the train station.
Music wise it has been quiet, The Wedding present and Saint Etienne are the only bands I have seen in the last eighteen months.

Morpeth2Newcastle
Another marathon done. Slightly slower at 4:52. Not bad considering the sole of one of my trainers decided to disintegrate at mile 20. The weather was kind, dry, no wind. It wouldn't have been much fine running from Blyth to Tynemouth in a howling wind. That's marathons finished for 2016.
I forgot to mention Explosions In The Sky at the Sage. Truly wonderful.

Adventures In A Yorkshire Landscape
Another October Sunday. Another Marathon.
This time it was Yorkshire's turn.An early start a drive down to an old airfield for the park and ride for the run. A double decker bus full of excited runners , the pungent aroma of Deep Heat strong enough to make your eyes water, a sprint across the campus to the start and I was off down into York.We ran past York Minster as the bells were ringing and out into the countryside we went. At Stockton On The Forest , I high fived the Vicar as he stood by the roadside in full Sunday regalia as he intoned " God bless you all". Well its part of this marathon's story.
The run went well and it was my fastest in this post 50 series at 4:46:44. Maybe God did bless us all?
